Choose any two measurements
Choose the unknown: full V opening, bend angle or section dimension. Enter the other two. Choose vertical for a V in the side walls, where the section dimension is wall height; choose horizontal for a V across the base, where it is tray width.
Equations
Full opening K = 2D × tan(θ / 2). Angle θ = 2 × atan(K / (2D)). Section dimension D = K / (2 × tan(θ / 2)). The half opening is K / 2. Angles are degrees; the supported range is 5–90°.
Reference numerical example
With D = 250 mm and θ = 25°, the full opening is 110.85 mm and the half opening is 55.42 mm. All three solving modes reproduce the same ideal geometry.

For the angle and notch solvers, unmeasured straight legs are visualization extensions, not calculated stock requirements. Only the displayed measurement results are solved from your inputs.
Scope
Ideal geometric solver. Excludes kerf, bend radius, material allowance and connection specifications. Reference-product modes remain separately under review.
