Measurement setup
Measure the rectangular opening as clear width and height. Opening sill is above the incoming base level; wall thickness runs along the route. The raised plateau passes through the hole and then returns to the original base level. Opening width must be at least tray width + 2 × clearance; opening height must be at least side height + 2 × clearance. The surrounding wall is shown as four solid frame regions.
Geometry and cut equations
D = sill height + clearance; S = D / sin θ; Q = D / tan θ; plateau = wall thickness + 2 × (clearance + H × tan(θ / 2)).
For each closing joint, d = span × tan(|α| / 2), and the full V opening is 2d. Span is tray width for horizontal cuts and wall height for vertical cuts. Downward vertical joints open the side-wall slit instead; their formed edge gap is 2H × sin(|α| / 2).
Every segment must contain its adjacent closing-notch setbacks plus a 10 mm margin. Impossible or overlapping layouts are rejected.
Default numerical example
W = 200 mm · H = 50 mm · Straight stock length = 1607.11 mm. Stock station: 350.00 mm / 632.84 mm / 974.26 mm / 1257.11 mm. θ: 45.00° / -45.00° / -45.00° / 45.00°.
Inspect all four stages
- Inspect the uncut straight channel.
- Mark every fold axis and its side-wall or base cut. Green lines show retained fold connections.
- Remove amber closing wedges. Opening joints are side-wall slits. Keep the indicated fold connections.
- Fold about every retained axis. Purple covers identify opening regions; they do not specify hardware.
Scope and method identity
This is a separately implemented TrayNeo method for the numbered entry. Exact correspondence with the reference product remains under review.
Ideal zero-radius geometry. Cut envelopes, retained folds and opening covers are shown explicitly; kerf, rolled lips, thickness allowances, cable clearance, springback and connection hardware are not specified.
